Library Opening Hours
Harare City Library has been in existence for well over a hundred years, though under different names and in different places.
The Library is governed by the Harare City Library Act [Chapter 25:05], and the property and assets are vested in a Board of Trustees.

Invitation to become a "Friend of the Library": Are you passionate about the cause of the library? Would you like to be a friend of the library? "Friends of the library" is a group of dedicated volunteers who work with the library staff and management committee. • Their main objective is to provide additional funding for special programs and enhancement of the library. • They offer a wealth of ideas and resources. • They advocate and represent the library well in the community. • They enjoy a discounted annual subscription on renewal and, • They can organize meetings and can have interactive discussions at the library in the boardroom.
